Spanish Immersion Program

Our Spanish Immersion Program gives children the opportunity to develop bilingual skills in a natural and meaningful way. Spanish is integrated throughout the day through play, conversation, music, stories, and hands-on activities—helping children learn language as it is truly used.

Led by fluent Spanish-speaking educators, our classrooms focus on communication and comprehension rather than memorization or translation. Children are supported at their own pace, whether Spanish is their home language or a new one.

Research shows that early language immersion strengthens cognitive development, including problem-solving, memory, and flexibility in thinking. Beyond language, our program nurtures cultural awareness, confidence, and a strong foundation for lifelong learning in two languages.

Meet the Founders

Children’s Academy of Seattle was founded in 2013 by two dedicated and hard-working bilingual Latinas, Graciela Ruiz and Laura Cristobal. Graciela and Laura shared a vision of what it would look like to offer trusting, engaging, bilingual, hands-on, and loving childcare services that would also promote a safe space for kids to develop new skills and learn, all while having fun.

They both decided to put their extensive expertise in childcare to work and, in 2013, opened their first Spanish immersion childcare center in West Seattle. As the academy flourished, another passionate and goal-driven Latina, Dulce Siguenza, joined the team.

Together, these three women united their forces to establish a safe and nurturing learning environment for children across Washington. The Children’s Academy of Seattle has expanded its presence to include centers in West Seattle, White Center, Burien, Renton, Edmonds, and Tacoma.
