Our Spanish Immersion Program gives children the opportunity to learn Spanish in a supportive environment. The language is part of the daily classroom experience through conversation, play, stories, music, and everyday routines, helping children become comfortable hearing and using Spanish throughout the day.

Our classrooms are guided by fluent Spanish speaking educators who create a warm space where children feel comfortable communicating and learning. Whether Spanish is familiar or new, children are supported as they grow in confidence, develop language skills, and build an appreciation for different cultures.

Meet the Founders

Children’s Academy of Seattle was founded in 2013 by two dedicated and hard-working bilingual Latinas, Graciela Ruiz and Laura Cristobal. Graciela and Laura shared a vision of what it would look like to offer trusting, engaging, bilingual, hands-on, and loving childcare services that would also promote a safe space for kids to develop new skills and learn, all while having fun.

They both decided to put their extensive expertise in childcare to work and, in 2013, opened their first Spanish immersion childcare center in West Seattle. As the academy flourished, another passionate and goal-driven Latina, Dulce Siguenza, joined the team.

Together, these three women united their forces to establish a safe and nurturing learning environment for children across Washington. The Children’s Academy of Seattle has expanded its presence to include centers in West Seattle, White Center, Burien, Renton, Edmonds, and Tacoma.
